Ingredients

  • 1 bag Black Tea (or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf black tea)
  • ¾ Cup Water
  • ¾ Cup Milk (whole, oat, almond, or soy)
  • 1 tbsp Honey or Maple syrup
  • ¼ tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ tbsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 pinch Ground Cardamom
  • 1 pinch Ground Cloves 1 pinch
  • ½ tbsp Vanilla Extract (optional)

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Mug
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Brew the chai base: In a saucepan, bring water to a gentle boil. Add tea, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves. Reduce heat and simmer for 3–5 minutes to let the flavors infuse.

Add milk and sweetener: Pour in the milk and add honey or maple syrup. Stir and heat until steaming but not boiling.

Strain (if needed): If you used loose tea, strain the mixture into a mug to remove tea leaves and spice solids.

Finish: Stir in vanilla extract if desired. Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Serve: Enjoy your warm and aromatic Chai Tea Latte immediately!

Notes

  • For an Iced Chai Latte, cool the tea mixture and pour it over ice with cold milk.

  • Adjust spice levels to your taste — add more cinnamon for warmth or ginger for a stronger kick.

  • Use chai tea bags for convenience — just simmer with milk and sweetener.

  • For a frothy café-style latte, froth the milk before mixing.

  • Try adding espresso for a “Dirty Chai Latte” twist! ☕✨
