Method
- Brew the coffee/espresso:Start by brewing a shot of espresso using an espresso machine. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can substitute it with 1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee. You want the coffee to be strong to balance the sweetness of the chocolate syrup.
- Prepare the glass:In a tall glass, add 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup. If you prefer a stronger chocolate flavor, you can increase the syrup to 3 tablespoons.
- Mix the espresso with chocolate:Pour the freshly brewed espresso into the glass with the chocolate syrup. Stir thoroughly to ensure the chocolate syrup dissolves completely into the coffee. You’ll notice the chocolate adding a rich, smooth sweetness to the coffee.
- Add the milk:Add 1 cup of cold milk to the glass. You can use dairy milk or any plant-based milk like oat milk, almond milk, or soy milk, depending on your preference. Stir again to mix the milk and coffee together, creating a creamy base.
- Add ice:Fill the glass with ice cubes, about 1 cup or more, depending on how cold and diluted you want your drink. Stir well to combine the ice with the coffee mixture.
- Optional – Whipped Cream:For an extra indulgent touch, top your iced mocha with a generous swirl of whipped cream. This will add a creamy, airy texture to the drink and elevate the flavor profile.
- Optional – Garnish:If you want to get fancy, you can garnish the whipped cream with chocolate shavings or a light dusting of cocoa powder to add a visual appeal and an extra hint of chocolate.
- Serve & Enjoy:Insert a straw, give it one last stir, and your Iced Mocha is ready to enjoy! It’s perfect for sipping on a hot day or as an afternoon pick-me-up.
Notes
- If you like your iced mocha extra chocolatey, feel free to add a bit more chocolate syrup or even a splash of chocolate milk for a richer flavor.
- For those who prefer a less sweet version, start with 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup and adjust to taste.
- Use cold brew coffee or chilled brewed coffee for an even smoother texture.
- To make it more decadent, you can drizzle extra chocolate syrup inside the glass before pouring the coffee and milk mixture for a chocolatey swirl.
